Start by making your bed: get rid of anything that doesn’t belong on your bed.
Get rid of outdated goods: start in each room separately; for instance walk into your bathroom and throw away expired products.
Organize your wardrobe: categorize your closet: by shirts, pants, jeans, dresses, etc. you can also sort your clothes and shoes between causal, formal and work items. At the end of the season check what you have used and what you have never worn and donate those. You will not wear them later, trust me.
Always keep your kitchen accessible: it can become a mess after cooking and eating. Make sure to always return items that are not often used into storage areas. Only keep what you need on daily basis.
Don’t neglect your living room: this is usually the hardest room to tidy up, especially when you have children. When you see something in your living room, ask yourself: do you need it? Are using it regularly? Is it essential to have it on your coffee table? Remove everything where the answer is “no”. if you have kids, the most difficult task is handling the toys, the best way of doing so is by buying storage boxes and label these. Most importantly don’t forget to periodically check these boxes and donate what your children are no longer playing with. Now if you have pets, make sure they have designated areas where they can sit and eat.
